There are five attractive bowl games set for Friday, January 1. Fanpicks.com provides the following selection of the best fantasy college football picks for one day leagues on this big day for DFS GM’s.

The Northwestern Wildcats will meet the Tennessee Volunteers in the Outback Bowl. There will be a speed advantage for the Volunteers in this game. When Northwestern stepped up in competition in Big Ten action they got crushed losing 40-10 at home to Iowa and a 38-0 road defeat at Michigan.

The loss to the Wolverines really sticks out in the mind as the Wolverines speed advantage was tremendous in their blowout win. The Wildcats faced a lot of slow footed teams down the stretch and in non-conference to pad their record.

Tennessee brings in the 21st rated rushing attack into the Outback Bowl. Sophomore running back Jalen Hurd led the club with 1155 yards rushing and 13 touchdowns on the ground. He rushed for well over 100 yards over his past two games.

You have to respect his 92 yards rushing on 18 carries and a touchdown on the Crimson Tide. Another good defensive team that Hurd had a good game against was at Florida with 102 rushing yards and two touchdowns. In the non-conference Hurd ran for 106 yards and a touchdown against Oklahoma.

The Michigan Wolverines will meet the Florida Gators in the Citrus Bowl. The Las Vegas oddsmakers have shown their hand and feel this will be a very low scoring game. They have made the over under total in this game at 38 ½ points. Michigan is the fourth rated defense from all of college football by limiting teams to just 281 yards per game.

Opponents put up 17 points a game on the Wolverines defense ranking Michigan 11th best in points allowed. Since losing starting quarterback Will Grier the Gators offense has gone south. They were held to 9 points at home to Vanderbilt and 2 points at home to Florida St. Florida finished the regular season 110th in total offense and 98th in scoring offense.

Mississippi at the conclusion of the regular season was the only team to defeat Alabama. They have been putting up points to close the regular season with 52 against Arkansas, 38 at Mississippi St and 38 at home to LSU.

The Rebels are the 10th-best passing team from college football. Rebels wide receiver Laquon Treadwell led the team with 76 catches for 1082 yards with eight touchdowns. He has had touchdown receptions in six of his past seven games.
