Eli Manning, NYG, Players to Target

Monday Night Football features and NFC versus AFC contest as the Miami Dolphins will host the New York Giants. We isolate daily fantasy football picks from this game for one day real money leagues at Fanpicks.com

The Giants have the most at stake in this game with a win they will be in a three way tie for the NFC East division lead. The Dolphins at 5-7 are longshots for a playoff spot with four games remaining on the schedule.

New York is the seventh ranked passing offense in the NFL as they pass for 266 yards per game. The running game has been brutal this season as the team is 29th in the league running for 88 yards per game. Rashad Jennings is producing 3.7 yards per carry and is leading the team in attempts with 116.

Andre Williams is second on the team with 71 carries but he is rushing for 2.8 yards per attempt. Shane Vereen is more of a threat in the passing game but he does lead the team with 4.2 yards per carry but is third in carries with 51 rushes. The Giants running backs provide no value to fantasy league GM’s because they don’t produce and there are three players sharing the ball.

Eli Manning has had issues with accuracy in his past three games throwing for no greater than 54.5% in that span. But the throws he completes have produced numbers as the Giants signal caller has averaged 320 yards passing over his three games and he has five touchdown passes in that span. Manning has the better playmakers in his passing game than the Dolphins do. The Miami defense has not played well and they allow 26.2 points per game at home.

Wide receiver Odell Beckham leads the team with 78 catches for 1154 yards with ten touchdowns and a very good 14.8 yards per catch average. He has 105 yards receiving or greater in five straight games. Against a very good New York Jets team the Giants receiver had six catches for 149 yards with a touchdown. He averaged 24.8 yards per catch in that game. When an NFC team plays an AFC team it favors the offense because these teams meet just once every four years and the defense are not familiar in their opponents formations and passing patterns. In Beckham’s past three road games he had 142 receiving yards at Washington, 105 yards at Tampa Bay and 130 yards at New Orleans.

The Miami Dolphins playoff chances are very slim. Pittsburgh, Kansas City and the New York Jets are battling for the two AFC wildcard playoff spots with 8-5 marks. At 5-7 the Dolphins look like they will be home for the playoffs. The team had a coaching change early in the season and has let go assistants throughout the season creating chaos on their team. In big games the Dolphins have disappointed as they are 0-5 against the AFC East division.

The Monday night spotlight can be classified as a big spot so it’s hard to make a case for Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill and his playmakers in the passing game. The Giants are the worst pass defense in the NFL so the numbers for Tannehill could be better than average. But the belief is the Giants have more big play talent on their roster so they get the nod.

The Miami Dolphins want to run the ball. When Lamar Miller gets a high volume of carries they do very well in games. Miller in the game following the firing of his offensive coordinator ran the football 20 times for 113 yards with 5.7 yards per carry. Look for a heavy work load for Miller in this game.
