Week 7 Fantasy Football Rankings: RB, K, DST

The Week 7 Fantasy Football RB Rankings are here! The Week 7 Fantasy Football RB Rankings are here! Quick, go tell grandpa! Right now, there is a small percentage of you that are undefeated, and there’s a small percentage of you that are winless. Some are flying high at 5-1 and some are dragging bottoms at 1-5. But it’s the 2-4, 3-3 and 4-2 teams that are really trying to make sure every move counts from here on out. I already posted the Week 7 Fantasy Football Rankings for QB, WR and TE. Week 7 has six teams on bye weeks, which should make your lineup a little more difficult to fill out. You’ll see players in these RB, K and DST rankings that are normally never included in the top groups at their positions. But, for example, when the running backs are missing players like Michael Turner, Willis McGahee, Jamaal Charles, Reggie Bush, LeSean McCoy and Ryan Mathews, then you know you’re going to be reaching to fill out that flex spot. It’s time to check your Week 7 Fantasy Football RB...

Mind Of The Yeti Fantasy Stylee: Pigs, Packers and Punky

[Editor’s Note: Once a week, we’re going to be exposed to the inner workings of the Mind of a Yeti. Normally, his blog is found at FifthPeriodLunch.com, but he has such a love for Fantasy Football, he agreed to post some of his ramblings here each week. Yeti Vedder wants to help you, also. Don’t judge him just because he likes the Patriots! — DG] *This season has been so unpredictable! Trades are happening like crazy all across Fantasy Football land and Yeti Vedder is happier than a pig in poop! *Are people still wondering if RGIII is legit? The guy has been a Fantasy beast every week, except for when he got knocked out. *Aaron Rodgers looked decent against Houston. GOOD LORD! *We all started Shonn Greene this week because he has been so consistent this season, right? Right? *As much as this kills me to say, the Patriots offense has been very frustrating to Fantasy owners. Welker the first few weeks. Gronk hasn’t really done anything spectacular. Aaron Hernandez gets hurts and Tommy B hasn’t had a HUGE week yet. If you had told me this would be the case at the beginning of the season, I would have called you a cuckoo face! *Even when Arian Foster rushes for 29 yards, he still has a big game with 2 TDs. What a bizarre stat line! *5 players that had Fantasy owners saying, “I am a Fantasy Football God!” Aaron Rodgers- If you have him and didn’t win, your team sucks! Jordy Nelson- Reaped the benefits of Rodgers going OFF! Plus his name is Jordy! RGIII- He looked very hurt yesterday… Oh wait! Dez Bryant- Survey DEZ! Dez had a big week! Josh Freeman- Showing that Tampa Bay CAN throw the ball. *Speaking of Tampa Bay, we all started Mike Williams at WR this week, right? Man, we are all really on a roll! *LeSean McCoy owners are patiently waiting on LeSean to have that unreal game. He has been consistent, but not top-3 pick overall consistent. *Just when you think Tony Romo is going to pull out a victory in Big D, he finds a way to lose. If losing was winning, Tony Romo would be a legend in this...

Week 6 Fantasy Football Rankings: RB, K, DST

Bye weeks continue to wreak havoc on our Fantasy Football lineups. With four more teams off with a bye, the Week 6 Fantasy RB Rankings look pretty thin. On your bench go running backs like Darren Sproles, DeAngelo Williams, Maurice Jones-Drew and Matt Forte. (I doubt you’re going to miss Jonathan Stewart and Mark Ingram much.) Week 6 Fantasy Football Rankings I posted the Week 6 Fantasy Football Rankings for the quarterbacks, wide receivers and tight ends. Today, I’m working on the Week 6 Fantasy RB Rankings, as well as the kickers and defense/special teams. Week 6 NFL Schedule Pittsburgh at Tennessee Dallas at Baltimore Cincinnati at Cleveland St. Louis at Miami Indianapolis at N.Y. Jets Oakland at Atlanta Detroit at Philadelphia Kansas City at Tampa Bay Buffalo at Arizona New England at Seattle N.Y. Giants at San Francisco Minnesota at Washington Green Bay at Houston Denver at San Diego   Week 6 Fantasy RB Rankings The following rankings are for non-PPR leagues, with four points for passing TDs. A lot of people wonder, why do we do rankings for non-PPR, when any serious Fantasy Football owner is playing in a PPR league? The answer is — only 28 percent of leagues on CBSSports.com use “points per reception” as a scoring unit. The good folks at Four-Downs.com hook us up with their rankings tool, so we’re grateful for their help. There are several teams with byes this week, including the Bears, Jaguars, Panthers and Saints. One issue is that we were unable to rank Mikel Leshoure of the Lions and Shaun Draughn of the Chiefs. Figure Leshoure would end up about 20th, and Draughn a little further down in the 35th spot. I also posted the Week 6 Fantasy Football Rankings for the QBs, WRs and TEs. You will need Flash in order to view the rankings, which means you may not be able to view it from your smartphone. Week 6 Fantasy Football Rankings: QB, WR, TE

Did you enjoy last week’s #TwitMock Fantasy Football Redraft? In case you missed it, I got 11 other Fantasy Football writers together from sites like CBSSports.com, SI.com and Yahoo! Sports, and we did a four-round mock draft as if the season started before Week 5. And now, here we are with the Week 6 Fantasy Football Rankings! Today, I posted the Week 6 Fantasy Football Rankings for QBs, WRs and TEs, and then I also posted the top 45 running backs for Week 6. Giants at San Francisco Minnesota at Washington Green Bay at Houston Denver at San Diego   Week 6 Fantasy Football Rankings These rankings are for non-PPR leagues, with four points for passing TDs. Mind Of The Yeti Fantasy Stylee: Morris, Mr. T and Hello Kitty

— DG]   *So far this season, I have lost on the Ravens field goal kick that looked like it was no good and this week I’m going to lose due to RGIII trying to be a tough guy and get that extra yard. Yeti Vedder is having a rough season. *I still think RGIII is a top 5 QB. In no order, it goes Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Matt Ryan, and RGIII.  Every other QB is on a lower level. *Surprised I have Matt Ryan on that list?  Don’t be!  The guy has the best weapons in football with Roddy White, Julio Jones, and Tony Gonzalez!  He is finally realizing this! *Everyone had Alfred Morris being this good, right??? Right??? *Quickly, before the season started if I had asked you if Alfred Morris was the RB for the Redskins or a cat from a cat food commercial what would you have answered? *Wes Welker has totally been worked out of the Patriots offense. The guy only had 13 catches in week 5. This is me being very sarcastic!  A WR that hasn’t done much in a Patriots uniform is Brandon Lloyd! *Do you guys know anyone that was high on Alex Smith going into the season? I do, and his name rhymes with Betty Cheddar! I never want to toot my own horn, but, BEEP BEEP! *5 players that had Fantasy owners saying, “I am a Fantasy Football God! Alex Smith- 303 yds passing/3 Tds/49 yds rushing = Solid! Reggie Wayne- Has been one of the best WR’s in all of football Victor Cruz- Had owners dancing after every TD! Tony Gonzalez- We all had him with better numbers then Gronk and Graham! Marques Colston- 2 weeks ago I left you for dead. Yei apologizes! *Hey Philadelphia, how is Michael Vick working out for you this year?...

First-Round 2012 Fantasy Football Redraft Recap

I need you to step into your imagination for just a little bit. I need you to close your eyes and – no, wait! DON’T CLOSE YOUR EYES! You can’t read if your eyes are closed! OK, that was close. I need you to imagine you were stuck on a space station for the past month. A space station that DIDN’T have enough guys on it to fill out a fantasy football league. This would force you to wait until the second week in October, when you finally returned to earth, to hold your first fantasy football draft of the season. What would the first few rounds of a 2012 fantasy football draft look like if we drafted now – after Week 4. I thought this would be a great exercise, which would help fantasy owners understand the current value of some of their players – or some players they might be considering trading for. So I gathered 12 of the top fantasy football writers in the land, including Eric Mack of SI.com, locked them in the basement, and forced them to watch Season 4 of “The Gilmore Girls.” And THEN, I got them to do a four-round fantasy football redraft with analysis. 2012 #TwitMock Fantasy Football Redraft This mock draft was for a non-PPR league that scored four points for passing touchdowns. Below is my analysis of their picks from the first round. 1. Arian Foster, RB, Houston Those that took Foster with the first overall pick have to be ecstatic that he’s still the No. 1 guy. He leads all running backs in non-PPR scoring, and the Texans plan to lean on him more than in recent seasons. If there has ever been a time to trade for Ben Tate, now is the time to do it. 2. Ray Rice, RB, Baltimore You might remember that I advocated taking Rice over Foster with the first overall pick this summer. While Foster continues to outscore him, Rice remains a great pick – and there’s three-quarters of a season to play. His 22 receptions are 22 lost points in non-PPR leagues, but those are just added scoring opportunities on every pass. Only Darren Sproles (32) has more than Rice’s...
