Week 14 Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em

It’s crazy that we have reached Week 14 already, and not only the Fantasy Football season, also the NFL season is coming down the stretch. It has been a great season, filled with excitement and surprises. However, as the season comes down the stretch, the games become more important, and the money you have spent on your fantasy league is up for grabs. At this point, it could be up to one performance that could make or break your season. That is why every position is very crucial, and it is intensely important to make the right decisions. That’s what I am here for, as I’ll help you make those crucial decisions by giving my researched insight. Remember: If you win, thank me. But if you lose, it’s your team. Let’s get started. Week 14 Fantasy Football Rankings – Let the Playoffs Begin!

If you’re reading these Week 14 Fantasy Football rankings, there’s likely only two reasons for it: 1. You beat out half of your league for one of a few coveted playoff spots. 2. You’re in a league that doesn’t have a championship game until Week 17 and you’re sick of people mocking your league because of it. Fair enough. Either way, unless you’ve been eliminated from the Fantasy playoffs or you earned a first-round bye like a boss, you need to see what’s what among this week’s rankings. We have some new blood among the running backs (Marion Grice), wide receivers (Stedman Bailey), tight ends (Dion Sims) and kickers (Connor Barth) over the past few weeks, so the rankings have been shaken up a bit. Looking Ahead to the Fantasy Playoffs I wrote a couple articles earlier this week about players to pick up for this week on SportsIllustrated.com and also an article with “9 Tips for Fantasy Football Playoffs Success” on About.com. Rookie wide receivers continue to be the hottest segment of players in the NFL, with both Donte Moncrief and Marqise Lee making a ton of noise this past week. It’s crazy to think that about 14 players have already affected the 2014 Fantasy Football season, are still just rookie wide receivers. Eight have 48 or more receptions, 11 have more than 500 receiving yards and nine have five or more touchdown receptions! Without question, this is the best rookie class of wide receivers ever! Even though your waiver wire has already passed, you might still be able to make some moves for next week – not Week 14, but Week 15! Jacksonville’s Lee will face the Ravens in Week 15, and they have the worst defense against wide receivers in the NFL. If you’re in the market for a new kicker, you should think about picking up the kicker that plays on the same team as your Fantasy opponent’s quarterback or star player. Every time that player scores a touchdown, you’ll get a point! And if the team chooses to go for a field goal, you win doubly so. Week 14 Waiver Wire

Week 14 Waiver Wire

It’s a crucial time in fantasy football, and I can only hope that you are one of the few that have survived to this point in the season. It’s either the playoffs or the last week of the regular season, and seasons are on the line. At this point, your roster is pretty much set, and there are not many waiver wire targets, as most of your rosters are set at this point. However, there are some breakout stars and injuries that cause you to turn toward the free agent pool. Luckily, there are no more bye-weeks, so you don’t have to worry about that. Remember not to cut anyone of too significance, because that could end up hurting you in the future. Only cut players that have struggled ongoing, instead of players who have just struggled for a week. Week 14 Waiver Wire We used ownership percentages from CBSSports.com Johnny Manziel, QB, Cleveland Available in 91% of CBS Leagues Manziel entered the game for Brian Hoyer on Sunday, and played very well in his opportunity. He led the Browns down the field for the score on his first drive, and racked up 54 passing yards, 10 rushing yards and a rushing TD on the drive. Browns coach Mike Pettine wouldn’t say whether Manziel or Hoyer would start next week, but if it’s Manziel, he has a favorable matchup against the Colts. Plus, Manziel should be a viable option in fantasy given the weapons he has, plus his rushing yardage. If you are in need of a QB, and have a roster spot, I’d pick up Manziel. Dan Herron, RB, Indianapolis Available in 33% of CBS Leagues Herron once again ran better than Trent Richardson on Sunday, as Herron for 88 yards and a TD against the Redskins. Herron has replaced Ahmad Bradshaw in the Colts’ offense, and we all know what a big role Bradshaw played for Indy before he got hurt. Herron is also a factor in the passing game, and has favorable matchups against Cleveland, Houston, and Dallas upcoming. Doug Martin, RB, Tampa Bay Available in 46% of CBS Leagues Martin proved he is still the primary back in Tampa, as he saw 18 carries on...

Week 13 Discount Diving on FanDuel and Rankings

The Week 13 Discount Diving post comes with plenty to look forward to. Thanksgiving feast, watching Football while devouring far too much food, monitoring your Fantasy Squads (of course) and their bids to make playoffs, or snag a Bye in the first round, and for some spending the quality time with your family. No matter what shape your seasonal teams are in, I hope they are in playoff contention, there is always the opportunity to enter some DFS lineups by Thursday. This week is even better since there are 3 games with plenty of big name studs you should target for your lineups. This week will be different because of the schedule, but also because signing up for Thursday start games on FanDuel may not be as “advantageous” as they normally are. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t play obviously, there just may be stiffer competition starting tomorrow afternoon. Fear not, I will help you find some discount players who can add spark to your lineup while letting you afford the staple studs playing either Thursday or Sunday. A reminder to everyone reading, this isn’t intended to be a list of players you “Must Start” but a few targets at each position where you can save some money and get decent production. I typically aim to have two to three discount targets in my lineups. It can be more, or less. That is up to you! Since it is the Holiday’s and I have baking, bedtime, writing, lineups to set, etc I will cut this a tad short. I am sure you all understand, and may be overjoyed you don’t have to suffer through my ramblings this week and get right to the juicy part. I hope not, but I don’t blame you 😉 Good Luck this week everyone!! Discount Diving on FanDuel: Week 13  Quarterback: Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh vs New Orleans Post bye week and the Steelers face off against the high-octane offense of the Saints. This is good for the Steelers as they will likely need to throw plenty and often to win the game. With plenty of weapons at his disposal, Roethlisberger is a solid choice for his dollar value this week. I have him as my 4th...

Week 13 Fantasy Football Rankings

The last week of the Fantasy regular season is upon us and the Week 13 Fantasy Football rankings are chock full of players from all 32 NFL teams for the first time in a long time. Normally, I’d do a chatty writeup about something interesting going on in Fantasy Football right now, but with three games being played on Thursday, I have to get these rankings out earlier than normal. And the fact I’m trying to jam in five days worth of work into three days, I’m not going to be able to be as chatty as I want! So let’s get right into it! Week 13 NFL Schedule Thursday: Chicago at Detroit Thursday: Philadelphia at Dallas Thursday: Seattle at San Francisco Washington at Indianapolis Tennessee at Houston Cleveland at Buffalo San Diego at Baltimore Y. Giants at Jacksonville Cincinnati at Tampa Bay Oakland at St. Louis New Orleans at Pittsburgh Carolina at Minnesota Arizona at Atlanta New England at Green Bay Week 13 Fantasy Football Rankings Fantasy Football Rankings powered by FantasyPros Don’t forget to also check out Jesse Nadelman’s Week 13 Start ’em Sit ’em column and his Waiver Wire pickups for the week. Also, since we’re sending you to other great content, I thought I’d share a couple other articles I’ve written in recent weeks that can help you out: 9 Fantasy Players Owners Should Target This Week in Keeper Leagues 12 Players Owners Should Pick Up Now for the Fantasy Playoffs Is This the Best Rookie WR Class Ever? 12 Tools to Help You With Daily Fantasy Football 7 Fantasy Football Trade Tools to Help You Build a Winner 7 Best Tools to Help You Set Your Fantasy Lineup The thing to remember about this final week is that if you’re already out of the running, and you’re in a keeper league, you better make some moves here at the end to pick up some good prospects that could help you next year. You won’t be able to make these pickups at this time next week. Some of the players I specifically like that aren’t really doing anything right now include Donte Moncrief, Devonta Freeman and Seahawks running back Christine Michael. The Week 13 Fantasy...

Week 13 Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em

It’s finally here! Thanksgiving, the day we all cherish. It is filled with food, fun, family, and football, what a great holiday. It is personally favorite holiday, and I’m excited to celebrate with my family on Thursday. As for what I am thankful for, for one I am thankful to be able to write these articles on this great website to you readers. It’s not only Thanksgiving, as it’s also a huge Fantasy week. For some leagues it’s playoffs, but for most others it’s another stretch game that could be the difference between a playoff spot or not. Thus, it’s time to tighten up. I will do best my best to help you tighten up and get that win you desire, and need. Luckily, there are no teams on bye weeks this week, so no missing players other than injuries. Remember: If you win, thank me. But if you lose, it’s your team. Let’s get started. Week 13 Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Start Of The Week: Ryan Tannehill at N.Y. Jets Projected Fantasy Points: 24 Tannehill is coming off one of his top performances of the season against Denver, in which he threw for 228 yards and 3 TDs, and he added in a 15 yard rushing TD. Tannehill has become a reliable option in fantasy aside from last week, as he’s over 20 fantasy points in 3 out of his last 4 games, with 2 of those games being with over 30 fantasy points. On Monday Night, he travels to play the Jets, which has allowed 24.5 fantasy PPG to opposing quarterbacks, which ranks last in the NFL. The Jets’ secondary has been horrid this season, and look for Tannehill to take advantage of that. Thus, makes him my start of the week. Bust Alert Of The Week: Mark Ingram at Pittsburgh Projected Fantasy Points: 8 Don’t get me wrong Ingram has been great this season, but he has calmed down the last two weeks, not reaching over double-digit fantasy points. Ingram has also seen a decrease in carries, as he only saw 11 against the Ravens, which is just 1 higher than a season low. The Saints look like they could be going back to their old...

Week 13 Waiver Wire

I think we can all agree to one conclusion after Week 12’s action: Odell Beckham Jr. is a beast. We witnessed him make the best catch I’ve personally ever seen. He grabbed the ball out of mid-air with just three fingers, and hauled it in for a TD, all while being interfered with; on his way to an outstanding 26 fantasy points in standard leagues. On a fantasy note, in most leagues there are just two games left until the fantasy playoffs, and it’s no longer about the future: teams have to win now. Whether you are fighting for a playoff spot, or locking up the first seed, it is very important to snag these guys off waivers to fill some holes on your roster down the stretch. However, always remember to not cut anyone of too significance, especially at this point in the season. It could end up really hurting you in the long run. Only cut players that have been struggling for a long period of time, not for just a week or two. Week 13 Waiver Wire We used ownership percentages from CBSSports.com Ryan Tannehill, QB, Miami Available in 25% of CBS Leagues That 25% number is very low in CBS leagues, as I know Tannehill is available in a lot more of Yahoo and ESPN leagues. Tannehill has been very productive lately, as he has over 20 fantasy points in his last two games, including 32 fantasy points this past week. He has a very favorable upcoming schedule, as Tannehill gets plus matchups with the Jets, Ravens, and Patriots. If you are an owner of struggling Matthew Stafford or Colin Kaepernick, Tannehill could be a solution. Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Minnesota Available in 82% of CBS Leagues Bridgewater finally emerged to fantasy relevance last week, as he threw for 210 yards and two TDs against the Packers on Sunday. Not only was he good through the air, but Teddy also added 32 rushing yards on the ground. Bridgewater is another guy who has good matchups upcoming, as he faces off with Carolina and the Jets over the next two weeks. There have been many quarterbacks that have been fantasy busts this season, and if you’re a...
