The NFL moves into Week 11 making it time to select our preferred fantasy football picks for one day leagues at FanPicks.com.

The Oakland Raiders take their act on the road to battle the Detroit Lions. This Raiders team has shown great improvement on the offensive side of the football. Their young quarterback Derek Carr has weapons in the passing game to throw to and their run game has been productive. The Raiders are the sixth best passing team in the NFL.

Quarterback Derek Carr is completing 64.2% of his throws this season for 2396 yards with 21 touchdowns and six picks. He has passed for over 300 yards over his past three games passing for ten touchdown throws in that span. Carr’s past two road games have been impressive.

Two weeks ago at Pittsburgh the Raiders second year quarterback threw for 301 yards with four touchdowns. At San Diego in Week seven Carr had 289 yards passing with three touchdown throws. When you add up his four road performances, Carr has thrown for a total of 11 touchdowns. Derek Carr throws against a bad Detroit Lions team that is surrendering 32 points at home on the season. Lions are 25th in the NFL in total defense.

This is one of those NFC versus AFC matchups where the offense will have an advantage since these teams meet only once every four years so the defenders are not familiar with the offensive formations and pass patterns ran by wide receivers.

Play on Derek Carr (Oakland Raiders QB)

The New York Jets will have extra time to prepare for their road game as they travel to meet the Houston Texans. Houston will have a short week of preparation after their 10-6 road win at Cincinnati.

This was the second really good defense the Texans saw this year with the only other team being Carolina which resulted in a 24-17 road defeat. The Jets dropped a home decision to the Buffalo Bills on Thursday night football on November 12th so they will be focused against an inconsistent Houston Texans team.

The Jets are fourth in the NFL in total defense by allowing 318 yards per game. A benefit for the Jets in this spot is the fact they are facing a one dimensional offensive approach by the Texans as not many respect their run game. This will allow the Jets strong secondary to sit back in coverage and defend the pass. Look for the Jets with the extra preparation time to bring a strong defensive effort in this spot.

Play on New York Jets Defense

The Atlanta Falcons and Indianapolis Colts are coming off their bye weeks as they meet one another on Sunday Look for the Falcons against an AFC opponent at home to throw the football to exploit an Indianapolis Colts pass defense that allows 279 yards per game ranking fifth worse in the NFL at 28th.

In an NFC versus AFC game with the NFC team the home team in a dome this will play in the advantage of the Atlanta Falcons offense.

Julio Jones leads the team with 80 catches for 102 yards with six touchdowns. He is coming off two good games where he caught ten passes for 137 yards at San Francisco and 12 receptions for 162 yards at home to Tampa Bay. Expect a lot of points from Atlanta in this spot.

The Colts are giving up 27.3 points per game in their four road games. This is the best offense Indianapolis has faced on the highway as they have given up tons of points at Buffalo, Tennessee, Houston and Carolina this year.

Play on Julio Jones (Atlanta Falcons WR)
