Discount Diving for FanDuel Week 16

CHAMPIONSHIP has arrived and if you are in the championship congratulations and best of luck! If you are not however, like myself you will likely be looking to do some Discount Diving in DFS this week. I would normally apologize for the disastrous lineup I submitted and discount plays from last week, but I won’t this week. Last week was simply brutal from top to bottom. I was eliminated from 3 championship matches thanks to a quarterback nightmare, poor play from superstars Jamaal Charles, Calvin Johnson and….. well, I could go on and on but I won’t.  I know the saying “No one cares about YOUR team” and won’t push my readers to the limit. I will save that for Twitter.

This week there are plenty of injuries, questionable to doubtful status players, and values to be found if you are willing to risk it before kickoff. With top-tier positional players like Demarco Murray, T.Y. Hilton, and Julio Jones listed as question marks, or playing at less than 100% you have some potential discount gold.

With that I wish everyone luck in their seasonal and Daily contests today and let’s all cross fingers that this week is far better than last week.

Discount Diving on FanDuel

Quarterback: Alex Smith, Kansas City @ Pittsburgh

Smith has been putting up decent numbers from the Quarterback position the last 4 weeks, even as a game manager. Don’t let the zero touchdown passes to Wide Receivers stat scare you. He uses his feet, tosses the ball to his Running Backs and big Tight End target Travis Kelce. Pittsburgh does not have a fantastic defense and allows 17+ points to opposing Quarterbacks all season.  Pricing in at $7,400 makes him a nice target on FanDuel if you are looking to save at the position this week.

Projected FanDuel points: 17.3

Running Back: Joique Bell, Detroit @ Chicago

Joique has a fantastic matchup against a bears team that is reeling, and a defense that allows second most rushing touchdowns in the league. At a price tag of $7,300 and an increased workload Bell should be able to pound the Bears this week and continue scoring double-digit Fantasy points. Projected FanDuel Points: 15.5

Wide Receiver: Donte Moncrief, Indianapolis @ Dallas

Both of these teams have something to play for and Moncrieff could sneak in to more WR1 targets this week if Hilton can’t go, or is slowed down. I am taking the risk, especially at his price point and plugging him in my lineups. Even if Hilton plays Moncrieff should continue to get snaps and be an option for Andrew LuckProjected FanDuel Points: 8.7 (should increase if Hilton is inactive)

Note: Tight End is such a mess that I am plugging Rob Gronkowski in all of my lineups this week no matter what.

The Final Lineup (Plenty of Value/Risk this week)
