Week 10 DST Rankings — Sponsored by SKYLLZONE

Week 10 DST Rankings

Man, you picked a bad week for your defense/special teams to go on a bye week! The Week 10 DST rankings show you that any of the likely available Fantasy defenses in your league’s waivers aren’t going to have a great matchup in Week 10.

For those that had a DST on a bye week in Week 9, assuming you chose to reserve them rather than just dump them, the Bills, Lions and Titans also have some relatively tough matchups this week.

But all of that’s going away soon, as we’re close to having a full 16-game slate on the NFL schedule, with all 32 defenses available. You just have to hope you can get your club into the Fantasy playoffs for it to really pay off.

Fantasy Defenses For Hire

There are currently just seven DSTs available in 70 percent or more of leagues on CBSSports.com this week. That’s a very low number, but it’s likely because some teams hold onto good defenses on a Week 9 or 10 bye, and they pick up a throwaway defense.

I write the Waiver Wire column for Sports Illustrated each week, and I’m usually pretty good at nailing down which Fantasy Defense should be picked up each week. For instance, last week, I pegged the Browns DST, as they played Tampa Bay’s bungling offense, and the Brownies turned in a top-10 Fantasy effort last week.

Week 10 DST Rankings - SKYLLZONE Fan vs MachineOnce again, going against my Buccaneers, I recommended picking up the Falcons defense this week. That defensive unit scored 33 Fantasy points against the Bucs in Week 3, and Atlanta is coming off a bye week. All of the other available Fantasy DSTs in the 30-percent range have relatively tough matchups, including the Giants (at SEA), Jets (vs. PIT), Buccaneers (vs. ATL), Titans (at BAL), Raiders (vs. DEN) and Jaguars (vs. DAL).

Vegas Insider Chooses the Top 3 DSTs

I like to check out VegasInsider.com once in a while to see what the handicappers think about upcoming NFL matchups, and which defenses are in the best shape for this weekend.

Seahawks DST vs. NYG: The Seahawks are at home with the 12th man in Seattle, and Vegas has them as nine-point favorites in a game expected to score a total of 43.5 (the over/under line). The score should be close to Seahawks 26, Giants 17.

Ravens DST vs. TEN: The game’s over/under line is 44 points and the Ravens are favored by 9.5 points. That means the score is predicted to be somewhere close to Ravens 27, Titans 17.

Broncos DST at OAK: With a 49 over/under line, and an 11.5-point spread, the score should end up close to Broncos 30, Raiders 19.
