Week 9 Fantasy Football Rankings

With six teams on byes this week – the Week 9 Fantasy Football rankings are a little thinner than usual. There are plenty of interesting matchups, as well, including Peyton Manning and Tom Brady going at it again.

I was on the road this past week in Atlanta to see family, so time became an issue this week for me.

So rather than do my usual post for each position, I have to put all my rankings on one post, which might be preferred by many anyway.

The only problem with that is that I don’t really get to go deep into a discussion about any particular position. What I thought would be interesting, however, is a look at what Vegas thinks about the upcoming Week 9 matchups.

5 Best Week 9 Vegas Lines

High scoring games predicted by NFL handicappers usually means plenty of points for Fantasy players, and the over/under lines tell us how many points are expected to be scored by both teams combined. These totals are taken from VegasInsider.com.

Denver at New England – 55 over/under

No secrets here, as Manning’s team is always involved in one of the highest scoring games each week, and Brady’s coming off one of his best weeks of the season. Wes Welker returning to play against his former ballclub has us excited too, especially after seeing how both Steve Smith and DeSean Jackson did against their former teams.

Indianapolis at N.Y. Giants – 51 over/under

Initially, I figured this was mostly just praise for the Colts offense, but the point spread is just -3, favoring the Colts. So the final score for this game is expected to be something close to: Colts 27, Giants 24. That’s a high scoring game, and Rueben Randle looks to be a big recipient of Eli Manning’s attention.

New Orleans at Carolina – 49.5 over/under

This interdivisional rivalry is intriguing as the Panthers offense is starting to show some life (in spite of their loss to Seattle Sunday, and the Saints offense is currently the second-best in the NFL, with 445.3 yards per game. The Saints defense is the second-worst against opposing wide receivers (28.29 FPPG), so Kelvin Benjamin should have a very good game.

Philadelphia at Houston – 48.5 over/under

We all know how prolific the Eagles offense is (fourth in scoring this season with 29.0 PPG), but did you realize how much the Texans are scoring lately? Over their past three games, Arian Foster and Co. have averaged 27 PPG, and the Texans WRs should do well against an Eagles defense ranked 29th against opposing wide receivers.

Arizona at Dallas — 48 over/under

This southwest rivalry is a bit tricky because of Tony Romo’s back injury and his up-in-the-air status. The Cowboys have scored over 30 points in four of their past six games, and the Cardinals are looking better now that Carson Palmer (shoulder) is healthier. And John Carlson looks like a nice sleeper at tight end, as the Cowboys are one of the worst defenses against opposing tight ends.

Also, don’t forget that you can check out the Week 9 ADP for SKYLLZONE’s Fan vs. Machine drafts, which can help you know who to start and which players to use in all kinds of Daily Fantasy Football games.

Week 9 Fantasy Football Rankings

These rankings are based on standard non-PPR Fantasy Football leagues with four points for passing touchdowns and six points per rushing/receiving touchdowns.
