The college football bowl season will move into week two of action and it’s time to lock down on some solid fantasy football picks for your one day leagues at FanPicks.com
In the Miami Beach Bowl on December 21st the South Florida Bulls will be close to home to meet the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers. The Bulls have been a good story this season as they enter play at 8-4 after several down seasons.
The Bulls are an outstanding rushing team as they run for 243 yards per game which is 11th best in college football. They have been able to promote running backs into the NFL and have a good one on their hands in Marlon Mack.
Play Marlon Mack, South Florida Bulls RB
Mack leads the Bulls with 1273 yards on the ground on 193 carries with eight touchdowns. He has a very impressive 6.6 yards per rush average. Mack has rushed for over 100 yards in four straight and seven of his past eight games. The sophomore back has four rushing touchdowns over his past three games. On November 14th against a very good Temple team Mack rushed for 230 yards on 21 carries and two touchdowns for 11 yards per rush average.
The Toledo Rockets from the MAC conference will meet the Temple Owls in the Boca Raton Bowl. Temple finished their season off with a record of 10-3 and competed in a much improved AAC conference that sent Houston into the Orange Bowl.
Play on Temple Owls Defense
The Owls are bigger and should contain the offense from this MAC school. Temple is 16th in the nation in scoring defense as their opponents score just 19.2 points per game. A very impressive performance came on November 21st as the Owls limited the Memphis Tigers to just 12 points. Notre Dame scored only 24 points on the Temple defense and Penn St in week one was only able to push across 10 points.
The Boise St Broncos will meet the Northern Illinois Huskies in the Poinsettia Bowl from San Diego on Wednesday December 23rd. Boise St has a strong offense as the team sits 19th with 488 yards per game average.
Play on Brett Rypien, Boise St Broncos QB
Rypien has entered the lineup as a freshman for Boise St and is completing 62.5% of his throws for 2973 yards with 17 touchdowns and 7 picks. He is coming off a two touchdown performance at San Jose St to close the regular season. He has multiple touchdown passes in four of his past five games. He passed for 503 yards against a bowl bound New Mexico Lobos team. Since Boise St runs the ball effectively look for play action to be successful strategy in this game with long passes down the field.
Play on Thomas Sperbeck, Boise St Broncos WR
The junior wide receiver for Boise St leads the team with 82 catches for 1334 yards with eight touchdowns. He is averaging 16.3 yards per catch on the year. He had a great performance against bowl bound New Mexico with 20 catches for 281 yards. At Utah St he had 156 receiving yards and at Colorado St he had 178 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
Georgia Southern will face the Bowling Green Falcons in the Go Daddy Bowl on Wednesday December 23rd. Bowling Green is a tremendous offensive team.
Play on Matt Johnson, Bowling Green Falcons QB
Johnson has put up some monster numbers for the Falcons this season. The squad is the number three passing team from college football. Johnson has completed nearly 69% of his passes for 4700 yards with 43 touchdowns and eight picks. He has multiple touchdown throws in eight straight games.
