Daily Fantasy Football: Week 2 The Bargain Bin and Fanduel Cheat Sheet

When it comes to Daily Fantasy Football each and every week is dramatically different. Players will disappoint in the biggest way (I’m looking at you Jamaal Charles) or exceed all expectations like Allen Hurns (110 yards and 2 touchdowns). Although I owned Hurns in my deep dynasty league and had to play him, I wasn’t considering him for daily in Week 1. I can’t say I knew he would have a great week, but I did say my eyes will be on Allen Hurns today on Twitter *Humblebrag*.

Either way, if you happened upon my post last week and either mimicked my FanDuel lineup, or used a few of my “Bargain Bin” players you likely fared very well. I won all of the contests I entered my posted lineup in last week , and I look forward to continuing the trend this week. Hopefully you will find similar success bask in all of your riches and shower me with praise…..Well I won’t get too carried away, but I only want praise. No “Thanks for nuthin” or “You are the worst! How am i going to pay my mortgage now?”

This week has more matchups and although we may not catch lightning in a bottle, we can certainly try to build a balanced roster for our Week 2 FanDuel contests. Particularly in the Head to Head or 50/50 contests. Again, as I said last week, I am not focusing on high stakes contests, nor am I a high stakes gamer. So keep that in mind, and don’t get greedy. We did very well last week but this week could be bringing far different results. So with that, let’s dig in to the bin and see what treasures we find shall we?

Here is your Week 2 FanDuel Cheatsheet provided by none other than FantasyPros.com. Disregard the Week 1 Title, the rankings are for Week 2!

Week 2: The Bargain Bin

QB: Jake Locker, Tennesse @ Dallas – Locker will cost you $7,400 on FanDuel this week and since you only need one player at this position you may opt to go with a high-profile player here. That is fine obviously, if you want to save some moolah this week Locker should be a valuable weapon. He plays the hopeless defense of the Cowboys this week. He rushes the ball fairly well and has much improved weapons at his disposal. Projected Points: 16

If you want to play it safe I would roll with Andrew Luck at ,200 or Nick Foles at $8,300.

RB: Terrance West, Cleveland vs New Orleans- West will likely be the horse for Cleveland with injury to Ben Tate (I know, shocking!). What started off as a game where West getting overshadowed in Week 1, he managed to sneakily carry the ball 16 times for 100 yards. That is 10 points in most formats. He is also a bruiser, so if they reach the red-zone he will more than likely be the guy. At $5,300 West will be in a majority of my lineups as a bargain bin player. Projected Points: 9.8 pts

RB: Shane Vereen, New England vs Minnesota– I am a big Vikings fan, but I know what tight ends and pass catching backs tend to do to my beloved squad. Enter Shane Vereen, who salvaged a pedestrian Week 1 with a touchdown. I think he will be utilized even more this week and if I opt against West I would jump up to Vereen for $6,800 this week as my RB2. Projected Points: 13.2 pts

If you went with Locker for your QB you will be able to afford Vereen along with an elite RB1.

Garcon should be primed and ready for a big Week 2

WR: Pierre Garcon, Washington vs Jacksonville- This guy is a target machine. In Week 1 he saw 12 targets, and hauled in 10 of them for 77 yards. Not fantastic, but facing Jacksonville in week 2 and with Jordan Reed out once again, Garcon is far and away the biggest red-zone target for Washington. At his FanDuel cost of $6,900 he should be gold as a WR3 or even as a WR2. Projected Points: 15.2 pts

WR: Hakeem Nicks, Indianapolis vs Philadelphia– Aside from his touchdown he was nothing special in Week 1, however he was targeted in the end zone several times, and when it comes to bargains I like my red-zone target guys. Nicks fits that mold and this week should be a high scoring affair. Plenty of opportunities should arise. Projected points: 8 pts

TE: Delanie Walker,  Tenessee @ Dallas– Walker should continue to see targets and against the soft Dallas defense I am hedging my bets that he gets a touchdown and more this week. Tight End will be the position I go cheap on this week. He is cheap coming in at $5,000. Projected Points: 7.1 pts

If you don’t trust the value play here, I would go with Rob Gronkowski going up against the Vikings.

The Final Lineup…..Or One Of Them
