Week 12 Sleepers to Consider

It felt good to be back in the saddle last week looking for players to help make that final push to the playoffs. Let’s see how last week’s sleepers performed before we go into the Week 12 sleepers.

Josh McCown threw for 216 yards and no picks. Those aren’t stats that are going to make your week, but he didn’t treat you too bad if your No. 1 QB was on a bye last week.

Brian Leonard had a decent game for Tampa Bay last week. But as soon as Bobby Rainey started ripping off touchdowns and long runs, Rainey was in and Leonard was out.

Three catches, 48 yards and a touchdown is a pretty good week for a receiver in a PPR league. That’s what Jerricho Cotchery had last week for the Steelers. There’s still a good chance this guy is available,  if you need a WR3/WR4.

Cotchery is having a great year and I don’t see the Steelers’ passing game slowing down, now that they finally got it jump started.

The Saints’ Kenny Stills only had one catch for 11 yards on two targets. He’s definitely a hit-or-miss kind of player. Last week — he missed.

The Vikings may have found something in John Carlson. He’s had two pretty productive weeks in a row. Lord knows I need some points from the TE spot, especially if Reggie Bush and Adrian Peterson are going to get me jack squat. My No. 1 and 2 picks combined for fewer points last week than Carlson scored. Ouch.

Enough of living in the past, time to move on to this weeks picks.

Week 12 Sleepers

 

Ryan Fitzpatrick, QB, Titans

Let’s face it, Fitzpatrick looked decent last week against a pretty good Colts defense. This week he will go up against an Oakland secondary that could make him look like Fran Tarkenton. If you have Russell Wilson or Nick Foles sitting this week, Fitzpatrick could be a good option for you.

Andre Ellington, RB, Cardinals

Ellington is getting just a few less carries than Rashard Mendenhall. He had a bad day last weekend, but eventually he’s going to bust one. Did you see what the Rams did to the Colts on the ground a few weeks ago? Ellington is a good flex option, if you are hurting.

Keshawn Martin, WR, Texans

With Deandre Hopkins in the dog house and Andre Johnson storming off the field last week, the Houston Texans need some stability at wide receiver. Martin was targeted five times last week and showed some burst on a punt return for a touchdown. He is a good flex or WR3 option this week, if you  are searching for either position.

Delanie Walker, TE, Titans

If your TE spot is a revolving door like mine, take a look at the Titans’ Delanie Walker. He caught 10 passes last week. That’s right — 10. And oh, by the way, the Raiders don’t defend anything very well, including the TE position. Walker could have another big day.
