Week 12 Waiver Wire

We’re officially heading down the stretch, and in most leagues there are just 3 games left in the fantasy regular season. These games are crucial, and so are your roster moves at this point. Most likely, your trade deadline has passed, which means if you’re having problems at a certain position, it’s all up to the waiver-wire.

Last week, we saw few injuries, but there were some like Broncos’ stars Julius Thomas, Montee Ball, and Emmanuel Sanders. However, we also saw the Colts lose Ahmad Bradshaw and Dwayne Allen to injuries. So, whether if you’re owners of these players, or hurting at a position, pay attention.

Remember not to cut anyone of too significance, because that could end up coming back to bite you. Only cut players who continue to struggle consistently, rather than guys who just struggled for one week. Without further ado, let’s get started.

Week 12 Waiver Wire

We used ownership percentages from CBSSports.com

Josh McCown, QB, Tampa Bay

Available in 65% of CBS Leagues

A lot of people are really hurting at QB down the stretch, and McCown could be one of those weekly plug-in solutions. Since returning from injury, McCown has 23 fantasy points in his two games back, and has found a very reliable target in Mike Evans. He gets the Bears next week, which allow the 30th most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks, and later he faces a good matchup with Carolina. Tampa Bay throws the ball a lot, and if you need a QB, I would consider adding McCown off waivers.

Jonas Gray, RB, New England

Available in 67% of CBS Leagues

Gray totally went off on Sunday Night; carrying the ball 38 times for 199 yards and 4 TDs. Yes, you read that right. I had Gray on this column a couple weeks back, and that was because of his carries. Gray has seen at least 17 carries now in 2 out of his last 3 starts at RB, now that Stevan Ridley is out for the year. After his success this week, The Pats should continue to feed Gray the ball down the stretch. If you recall, some of LeGarrette Blount’s best games as a Patriot came at the end of the season last year. Gray is a must-add in all leagues.

C.J. Anderson, RB, Denver

Available in 18% of CBS Leagues

Although Anderson is available in just 18% of CBS Leagues, he is available in a lot of ESPN and Yahoo! Leagues. He is becoming the main back in Denver, due to the injuries to Ronnie Hillman and Montee Ball. Ball re-injured his groin on Sunday, and it’s not known how serious his setback is. Either way, John Fox has said that the Broncos are going with a hot hand approach at running back, and right now, Anderson is the hot hand. Especially if you are struggling at running back, Anderson is a must own in all leagues.

Kenny Britt, WR, St. Louis

Available in 88% of CBS Leagues

Shaun Hill took over for the Rams at QB on Sunday, and he helped them complete the upset, beating the Broncos, 22-7. His main target was Britt, who hauled in 4 of his 7 targets for 128 yards and a TD. Britt is now the top receiver for the Rams, with Brian Quick out for the season. Britt has some good matchups upcoming, and he should continue to be the top target for the Rams this season, and the Rams throw the ball a lot each game. Britt is a very good option at receiver to add this week.

Jarvis Landry, WR, Miami

Available in 81% of CBS Leagues

Landry is another one of those rookie receivers that continue to impress. Landry’s role in Miami continues to grow, as he shined in the spotlight Thursday, catching 5 balls for 46 yards and 1 TD. Landry is a valuable asset in PPR leagues, as he’s caught 17 balls over the last 3 weeks. In standard leagues, he’s done well, also. Landry shapes up to be a descent add off of waivers this week.

Coby Fleener, TE, Indianapolis

Available in 37% of CBS Leagues

Fleener has put together two double-digit performances in each of his last two games, including 144 yards receiving this week. To add to his success, other TE Dwayne Allen is reportedly out for a month with an ankle sprain, which is good news for Fleener. Last year when Allen got hurt, Fleener took control and became a top fantasy tight end option. That should be the case from now on, and Fleener should be grabbed in all leagues.

Players to keep an eye on at each position

QB: Drew Stanton (ARI, 35% owned), Brian Hoyer (CLE, 21%), Ryan Mallett (HOU, 13%)

RB: Roy Helu (WAS, 23%), Latavius Murray (OAK, 1%)

WR: Taylor Gabriel (CLE, 4%), Davante Adams (GB, 38%), Chris Hogan (BUF, 1%)

TE: Jermaine Gresham (CIN, 11%)
