It’s playoff time for many of us, and we just need that one player to get us over the hump. Hopefully, I can share some Week 14 sleepers that can help you forge ahead.
Some of us need to get our heads out of our rump. I played Danny Woodhead over Ben Tate last week — and it cost me high point total for the week.
As I do every week, I will make a few suggestions that could be the difference between viewing fantasy stardom from afar, or being right in the middle of it. Before we get to the Week 14 sleepers, though, let’s see how last week’s group did.
Ryan Fitzpatrick cooled off a little bit and got around 15 points for his owners. For those of you that sat Andrew Luck on the bench and ran Fitzpatrick out there, it definitely paid off.
Chris Ogbonnaya had a rough week last week for the Browns. Seems the Browns are in love with Willis McGahee again and Ogbonnaya will just have to hope he can get his normal 3rd down reps.
Rod Streater had three catches for 57 yards. Not terrible… But Andre Holmes came from nowhere and was targeted 11 times to Streater’s four. The Streater train may be coming to the end of the line, especially with Denarius Moore coming back.
Jacob Tamme just plain let me down. Julius Thomas took a seat for the Broncos once again and Tamme certainly seemed to be the guy. Instead, it was the Eric Decker show. (50+ points in ppr leagues) Wow.
Time for this week’s picks!
Hear me out on this one. Glennon is coming off his worst performance of the year, by far. I can’t see him playing that poorly again. He’s going up against a Buffalo Bills team that is in the middle of the pack for defending QBs.
The Bills get a lot of sacks, but that doesn’t hurt fantasy QBs in most leagues. I see a lot of third and longs for the Bucs and Glennon dropping back about 50 times. Watch out.
After one target last week and zero catches, Burleson should be primed for a bounce back week against an Eagles team that can give up passing yards.
If you’re struggling with picking a W3, Burleson might be a guy to throw out there. According to yahoo.com, he’s only owned in about 40% of their leagues, so he might be available.
Reggie Bush owners have been asking themselves all year, “Who is Joique Bell?” He’s the best RB handcuff in fantasy football, that’s who he is.
I know it’s difficult to start a guy that plays behind Bush, but Bush has been having fumbling issues and Bell is getting a lot of carries. Especially around the goal line.
There aren’t a lot of sleeper options at tight end, but this week Lewis’ bad Jacksonville team plays an even worse Houston team. I can see him having a decent game against the Texans and if I ‘m hurting at tight end, decent looks pretty good.
That’s what you can expect this week from Lewis. A decent performance of around ten points, but hopefully a bigger day is in store.
