Well, that was interesting. In Week 1, we saw just nine wide receivers post 100-yard receiving games, so where does that leave us with our Week 2 WR rankings?

While there are a few changes from last week, there aren’t too many risers and fallers. Matchups certainly dictate where we’re placing a lot of these wide receivers, but we’re also conscious of some players moving up and moving down the rankings.

After just one week of action, though, we don’t want to overreact to too many players because of how they performed in Week 1. But there’s no denying some players have fallen out of favor with their team, and some wide receivers are shooting up, proving their big preseasons weren’t flukes.

Who’s Up, Who’s Down?

Michael Floyd has officially overtaken Larry Fitzgerald in weekly rankings, but this could be a back-and-forth thing as the year goes on. Speaking of Arizona, John Brown proved he’s not a preseason Tarzan/regular-season Jane.

The Vikings showed they’re going to get Cordarrelle Patterson involved in several different ways, and he’s already making us remember fondly back to Percy Harvin’s days in the purple and gold.

Mike Wallace has already scored one-fifth as many touchdowns in one game as he did in all of his first season with the Dolphins. He travels to Buffalo this week, though, where he didn’t do much in two contests last season.

The Chargers didn’t do much with Keenan Allen in Week 1 and he’s facing a really tough Seahawks secondary in Week 2. He could be sitting the bench for you this week, depending on your depth.

Reggie Wayne looked great, but he also had a wobbly knee on one play that made everyone that drafted him punch themselves in the face – until he walked it off and returned to play.

Brandin Cooks and Allen Hurns were the class of the rookie wide receivers this past week, and we moved them up accordingly for Week 2.

The Giants’ passing game looked like an assing game, and Victor Cruz is barely holding on to top-25 WR status in non-PPR leagues.

Going off of the stats from last season, here are the five toughest defenses against wide receivers, according to CBSSports.com:

1. Tennessee: 14.00 Fantasy pts per game allowed to WRs
2. Seattle: 14.79
3. Tampa Bay: 15.88
4. N.Y. Giants: 16.00
5. Miami: 16.75

And here are the five easiest defenses from a year ago that allowed wide receiver the most Fantasy points:

1. Philadelphia: 27.88 Fantasy pts per game allowed to WRs
2. Detroit: 26.88
3. Minnesota: 26.50
4. Kansas City: 24.18
5. Oakland: 23.62
