The Week 8 DST rankings will be missing both the San Francisco 49ers defense and the less valuable N.Y. Giants defense, as both teams are on byes.

The smart owner will look ahead at the available defenses for Weeks 9 and 10, also, to find some matchups to exploit – or matchups to avoid with their already owned defenses. There are six teams on byes in those weeks.

It’s starting to become more and more apparent which offenses you want your defense/special teams to go up against, and which DSTs are not worth relying on. This might be because they can’t pressure the quarterback or they just can’t seem to get any turnovers.

If your defense is doing neither of those things, that likely means they’re stuck out on the field a lot longer than others.

Streaming DSTs For the Next 3 Weeks

The following are Fantasy DSTs that are owned in fewer than 40-percent of CBSSports.com’s leagues.

Week 8 – Dolphins (at JAC), Buccaneers (vs. MIN), Vikings (at TB), Jets (vs. BUF)

Week 9 – Redskins (at MIN), Browns (vs. TB)

Week 10 – Cowboys (at JAC), Falcons (at TB)

Remember that in both Weeks 9 and 10, there will be six teams on byes, so the pickings will be slim. Get your DSTs a week or two early for those weeks!
