Seattle, Fantasy Owners Need to Fill a Lynch-Sized Hole In Their Lineups

It might seem rather early to be pinning down your Fantasy Football teams for next season. But after some big roster changes across the board, you’re sure to have some big decisions to make before September. If you’re a Seattle Seahawks fan, then one of those could be who replaces Marshawn Lynch on your team.

It might seem rather early to be pinning down your Fantasy Football teams for next season. But after some big roster changes across the board, you’re sure to have some big decisions to make before September.

If you’re a Seattle Seahawks fan, then one of those could be who replaces Marshawn Lynch on your team.

Lynch announced his retirement back in February with a cryptic post on Twitter.

The then-29-year-old tailback simply posted a picture of his running cleats hanging from what looked like an overhead wire, with just a peace out sign as a caption.

He made no official announcement, but it was clear after Seahawks owner Paul Allen started paying tribute to the star on social media that the picture meant he was hanging up his cleats for good.

The idea to rest the No. 24 jersey seemed to come from a number of Lynch’s former players, including Doug Baldwin Jr.

Despite a number of injury setbacks, Lynch was always a big part of the team and constantly motivated his fellow players on and off the field. Despite the loss of one of their biggest players, the bookmakers are still expecting a successful season for the Seahawks in 2016.

Betway currently has them at joint favorite both to win the NFC and the Super Bowl this season. They are currently 8/1 favorites to win the Super Bowl, and just 4/1 to win the NFC, which are the same odds as the bookmakers have given the Carolina Panthers. Those odds could change so be sure to visit Sports.Betway.com sooner than later to secure those odds.

It’s likely that if you chose Lynch for your Fantasy Football team at the start of the season, you replaced him early on. As the season began, he struggled to show much ability with the ball. Uncharacteristically he did very little running with the ball and wasn’t much help to the team. Midway through the season, Lynch announced that he needed sports hernia surgery.

The obvious choice for many fantasy football managers to replace Lynch was the very man the Seahawks chose as a replacement — undrafted rookie Thomas Rawls. He made a big impact during his first season, managing to carry the ball over 200 yards against the 49ers. His strong performances lead many people to believe that he should start even when Lynch returned from injury at the end of the season.

Despite Rawls’ dominance at the position last season, the Seahawks have drafted in another running back that is already exciting a lot of Fantasy Football fans. Despite being one of three running backs drafted by the Seahawks, C.J. Prosise could see a lot of game time – and he could be extremely valuable for your team this season, too.
