Week 1 is in the books, you won, you lost, you might have even notched the rare draw. Regardless, it isn’t time to sit on your roster, here are your top Week 2 Waiver Wire Adds. We already looked at some potential additions this weekend, but after the action this week more have emerged.

Week 2 Waiver Wire Adds

QB Terrelle Pryor, Oakland Raiders

It isn’t pretty to watch at times, but he is going to score fantasy points. You shouldn’t expect to throw him in against the Broncos
on the road in Week 3, but at home against the Jags next week might work.
Pryor went good for 112 yards on the ground, which lead the league going into Monday’s games, that is impressive when combined with his potential to be airing it out in garbage time weekly.

QB Carson Palmer, Arizona Cardinals

With the Lions, Saints and Buccaneers up next, expect Palmer’s 300 yard, 2 Touchdown days to continue. He spread the ball around to all 3 receivers and has a legitimate superstar target in Larry Fitzgerald.
There is a lot to like here and if the running game can give any balance to this offense it could be lethal. Palmer has 2 shootouts on tap in Weeks 2 and 3.

RB Joique Bell, Detroit Lions

We knew Bell would be involved in the passing game, but he was excellent in the Red Zone too, scoring twice. He caught 5 of 6 targets for 67 yards and turned his 6 rushes in 25 yards. Make no mistake, there is enough football to go around in this offense.
Reggie Bush is going to get his and be a factor in the Red Zone too, but Bell looked impressive, he ran hard and obviously cashed in when given the chance.

RB Da’Rel Scott, New York Giants

He didn’t fumble the football and he caught 5 balls for 51 yards. Those are positives. David Wilson didn’t do anything when he was on the field either, while Scott at least ran for 4.6 yards per carry and broke a 16 yard run in the 3rd Quarter.
Wilson should be the starter, at least I think he should be, but Scott didn’t hurt his chances at stealing some work and he didn’t get his first touch until the 3rd Quarter.

RB Daniel Thomas, Miami Dolphins

He isn’t the starter, or the most talented rusher on the team, but when push came to shove and the Dolphins needed a score at the Goal Line in the 4th Quarter it was Thomas who punched it in. Lamar Miller looked awful, but Thomas’ long run of the day was a mere 4 yards.
The team went to a full on rotation after Miller struggled early so Thomas has some value, especially if he keeps that Goal Line work. It isn’t sexy, but that doesn’t mean he’ll be void of production.

WR Brian Hartline, Miami Dolphins

9 catches, 114 yards and a score is a good line for any wideout, but don’t get too excited about Hartline. He only had 1 TD in all of 2012 and that was with 131 targets on the season. What he is though is a low-end PPR Wideout who is widely available in leagues.
He proved a year ago to have some value with over 1000 yards and 74 receptions on the season. That is reliable production on the cheap and he could find pay dirt more in 2013.

WR Julian Edelman, New England Patriots

It has been a seriously rough two days for Patriots not named Edelman. He played on over 88% of the Pats offensive snaps and was their best fantasy receiver on Sunday. He is a sparkplug who found the End Zone twice in Week 1.
It might be Edelman’s best week of the season, or it might be the start of a big campaign, but I wouldn’t wait around to find out. If you can add Edelman, you should.

WR Marlon Brown, Baltimore Ravens

He’ll start now that Jacoby Jones is down and out for awhile and he produced in Week 1. 4 receptions and 65 yards aren’t shattering statistics, but he scored and will see an uptick in targets. Opportunity often trumps talent in Fantasy Football, but Brown now has both going for him.
The Ravens looked lost in the passing game at times Thursday, but with a full week of practice with the first team, Brown should stand to improve and carve out a role. He is worth a look.

TE Julius Thomas, Denver Broncos

I had some expectations that Thomas would be a useful Fantasy player, but he outdid himself Thursday night. In fact, it is likely he had a career night. He’ll remain a fixture in the offense though and is a must add if you’re weak at Tight End.
There is only one football to go around in Denver, so he’ll have some games where he’ll disappoint, but Peyton Manning has a histoy of geting a lot of of his Tight Ends. I think he likes Thomas a lot.

TE Kellen Winslow, New York Jets

No, it isn’t 2006, but yes, Winslow posted big fantasy day Sunday. Winslow went good for 7 catches and 79 yards with a score. Young Quarterbacks often rely on their Tight Ends and there is no reason to expect Geno Smith wont continue to look to the veteran.
If you need help, Winslow could be a low-end option to consider, or he might have just took the first step in a semi-renaissance season. I would temper expectations.

DST Dallas Cowboys

Fresh off a 6 turnover game where they scored twice, the new and improved Monte Kiffen defense looked opportunistic and ball hungry. They were shredded at times by Eli Manning, but they also sacked him 3 times. In Week 2 they go on the road to Kansas City to face the Chiefs.
They might not have as dominating a performance next week, but you shouldn’t sleep on them either. There is a new system, emphasizing take aways and a lot of talent. This group has been underrated thus far.

DST Carolina Panthers

They weren’t monsters in terms of Fantasy Points, but they held the Seahawks to just 12 points. Their defense boasts a lot of play-makers up front and great Linebackers. They’re capable of getting to the Quarterback and Quintin Mikell is a nice veteran addition in the secondary.
They get the Bills next week in Buffalo and their offense should struggle again. The Bills only gained 286 total yards and turned the ball over twice. The Panthers are a good streaming defense this week.

IDP Waiver Wire – Rapid Fire

DL Donatari Poe, Kansas City Chiefs: Former first rounder went good for 1.5 sacks and 5 tackles.

DL Robert Quinn, St. Louis Rams: 3 sacks and 2 forced fumbles is a good start to the season.

DL Fred Evans, Minnesota Vikings: 5 solo tackles should seal his starting gig.

DL/LB Trent Cole, Philadelphia Eagles: DL eligible and playing Outside Linebacker. Excellent.

LB Zach Brown, Tennessee Titans: Huge Sunday, to the tune of 8 solo tackles and 2 sacks.

LB Jasper Brinkley, Arizona Cardinals: While Washington is suspended he’ll pile up tackles, had 8 this week.

LB Alec Ogletree, St. Louis Rams: The Rookie had 7 solo tackles and stood out.

DB Da’Norris Searcy, Buffalo Bills: How about his day? 9 totals tackles, a sack, fumble recovery and a score.

DB Duke Ihenacho, Denver Broncos: Hovered around the line and registered 11 tackles.

DB Barry Church, Dallas Cowboys: TD, 7 solo tackles, while also forcing and recovering a fumble.

Are there players that were left off of the Week 2 Waiver Wire Adds list? Who are you targeting?
