With Adrian Peterson out after being arrested on charges of child injury, the Vikings chose to deactivate him. Our job is to figure out what that means for Week 2 Fantasy rankings, so I updated them accordingly.

Both Matt Asiata and rookie running back Jerick McKinnon are expected to see a lot more action this week against the Patriots, who allowed over 190 rushing yards in Week 1 to Miami.

Asiata will likely start and see the early down carries, while McKinnon is adept in the passing game and should see some third-down and change-of-pace action.

Neither is worth starting as an RB2 if you have better options, but both have potential as a flex player – especially in PPR formats for McKinnon.

The better thought here is that WR Cordarrelle Patterson could even see more carries in the backfield, after scoring on a run last week. And Greg Jennings has proved to be a solid possession guy now, with Patterson working as the playmaker. Upgrade both of them accordingly.
