The quarterback and tight end positions always seem so full of talent, there are difficult decisions made each week when we do these Week 5 TE Rankings. Who do we leave outside of the top 12? We’re basically saying they’re not start-worthy.

That’s not true, of course, because there are tons of different Fantasy formats in which these players would be worth starting. Plus many leagues might have teams that happen to own two or more of the top 12 tight ends, which means the 13th and 14th are worth starting for other Fantasy teams.

But a few things are certain – we’ll see good production week after week from the tight ends that happen to be ranked between 10th and 20th on this list.

Some interesting news and notes tidbits you should be interested in surround the NFC East division, specifically.

Giants TE Larry Donnell scored three touchdowns in last Thursday’s game against the Redskins, and he has emerged into a top-five Fantasy tight end.

Week 5 TE Rankings - Fan vs Machine CashDonnell was interviewed by FantasyGuru.com’s John Hansen Monday afternoon on SiriusXM’s Fantasy Sports Radio channel, and the rookie admitted that he actually sat himself in his Fantasy Football league. Can you imagine that!?! He scored three touchdowns – on his own bench!

That reminds me of the story former Redskins TE Chris Cooley told about the time he scored three touchdowns in a game – and then ended up beating himself in Fantasy that week because of the three scores.

Speaking of Redskins tight ends, Jordan Reed (hamstring) looks like he’ll be ready to go for Week 5, as he participated in individual drills at Tuesday’s practice. Niles Paul (concussion) was unable to practice, however, so if Reed can’t go, it looks like it might be Logan Paulsen to the rescue.
