Fantasy Fatcast: Fantasy Rookies Redraft, Week 7 Preview

The Fantasy Fatcast boys got together for their regular weekly podcast this week, and we did a quick one-round 2013 Fantasy rookies redraft, just to see what we think of this class now that we’re six weeks into the season.

We also previewed the Week 7 matchups, which have some interesting games on the docket, specifically, the Broncos and Colts going at it in Indianapolis for the Sunday night game. Unfortunately, we’re also going to have to watch the Vikings and Giants play on Monday Night Football, with just one win between the two franchises this season.

Speaking of previewing the Week 7 matchups –- I got through every game and pick out the guys you should trust for the upcoming week, as well as the guys you should avoid, in my “Week 7 Start ’em, Sit ’em” article on SI.com.

I also posted my Week 7 fantasy rankings, along with SI counterparts Brian Flood and Michael Beller, in the SI.com Composite Rankings.

Remember – you can call into the Fantasy Fatcast with your questions every Tuesday night, between 9-9:45 pm ET. Call us at – (646) 478-3569.

2013 Fantasy Rookies Redraft

Basically, Eric Mack of Bleacher Reports and our Fantasy Fatcast host Brett Tresky joined me for this draft. The three of us rotated picks,

1. Eddie Lacy, RB, Green Bay

I made this first pick (the draft order was based on the standings in our Softball Team’s League, that we’re all a part of. I’m dominating, so I got the first pick!

2. Giovani Bernard, RB, Cincinnati

3. Le’Veon Bell, RB, Pittsburgh

4. Zac Stacy, RB, St. Louis

Back to my pick again, and I went with the last rookie running back that owns the starting job. Stacy’s Rams aren’t the best, but if they can feature him regularly, as they are,

5. DeAndre Hopkins, WR, Houston

6. Keenan Allen, WR, San Diego

7. Kenbrell Thompkins, WR, New England

Thompkins ranks among the wide receivers with the most dropped passes in the NFL – but that’s also an indicator that he gets targeted a lot. Daddy like!

8. E.J. Manuel, QB, Buffalo

9. Montee Ball, RB, Denver

10. Joseph Randle, RB, Dallas

11. Aaron Dobson, WR, New England

BT admits he just wanted to have a Patriots player on his team, and that Bills WR Robert Woods might have been a better player.

12. Joseph Fauria, TE, Detroit

Emack likes him as the best rookie tight end going forward, mostly because he was the best rookie tight end going backward.

I also mention that I was surprised that two rookies didn’t get drafted in this mock – Cardinals RB Andre Ellington and Jets QB Geno Smith.

How would you rank the 2013 Fantasy rookies going forward? Drop some comments below to let us know.
