This past Saturday, Aug. 18, we held our annual GFY Fantasy Football draft, made up solely of players from our softball rec league team (full-timers and part-timers). It’s our first year as a keeper league, going this year forward, and we made all players selected in Round 8 and forward available as keepers for future seasons (limit of four). Hopefully, you can view this as a 2012 Fantasy Football Keeper Mock Draft to help your own efforts.
This really isn’t your normal, run-of-the-mill kinda buddy league, considering it has three Fantasy Football writers in it. And two of those guys write for two of the most popular Fantasy websites in the industry.
CBSSports.com’s Jamey Eisenberg plays right field for our Maguire’s softball team. Eric Mack of SportsIllustrated.com is our shortstop, and I play first base. The three of us, along with more than half of the rest of the team, used to work together at CBSSports.com
I’m going to give some more entertaining draft details in another blog, and with the amount of beer and BS being slung around, I promise you’ll enjoy it. (Here are some of the GFY crew members from past baseball trips. All of these guys are in this league.) But for now, I thought you’d like to see what the draft results ended up being.
Remember, players taken in the first seven rounds ARE NOT KEEPERS, but every player taken in the eighth round on is eligible to be held over indefinitely.
