Best Week 2 NFL Bets

Game of the Week: Ravens at Eagles

The Ravens played a solid game of football whooping division rival Bengals 44-13 in their home opener. The offense may finally have the trust of the coaching staff, with Joe Flacco leading a hurry-up offense that shredded the Bengals for 430 total yards with 308 yards coming from the passing attack. The defense caused two turnovers and scored a touchdown, but they did allow 322 yards of offense with the running game rushing for 129 yards, which is rare against a Baltimore defense.

The Eagles escaped with a 17-16 victory in Cleveland as Michael Vick led the offense down the field in their last drive and scored a touchdown with a little over a minute remaining. The offense moved the ball at will — 456 total yards and 150 rushing yards — on a pretty good Browns D, but shot themselves in the foot, turning the ball over five times.  The defense was solid, keeping the Browns offense off the field creating four turnovers of their own. and only giving up 210 yards of total offense at a 3.6 yards per play.

The Ravens are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 Sunday games following a Monday night game. The Eagles are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games. The total has gone over seven times in the Ravens last 10 road games and the Eagles have gone over the total three times in their last five home games and had 1 push.

ProFootballMatchup.com ATS Pick: Eagles -2.5

Tzer of the Week: Giants (-1), Bengals -(.5)

The defending Super Bowl champs should get back on track as they host a young Tampa Bay team. Even though they struggled of late, it is hard for me to imagine the Giants dropping to 0-2, especially with both games being played in East Rutherford. The Bengals got throttled in Baltimore on Monday night, but the home cooking should do them well. They have beaten the Browns three straight years and will be facing a rookie QB who was unable to protect the ball in his debut.

Each week, the guys at ProFootballMatchups.com come up with several great wagers to look at for the upcoming NFL week. Check out their stuff and know that you’re in good hands. For those that are relatively new to betting, understand that ATS stands for “Against the Spread.”
