Most of the sports card links on this page will take you to eBay. That means I will get a commission on the sales from this page. If you end up buying from these links, I personally thank you for supporting my website! Even if you don’t buy anything, thank you for reading my article! Enjoy!
Earlier this year, I ranked my Top 5 2024 Topps Series 1 rookie cards, and then last month, I ranked my Top 11 2024 Topps Series 2 rookie cards.
Before we get into the 21 best 2024 Topps Chrome rookie cards, I thought I’d first discuss the rookie card situation in this set. Topps Chrome has now expanded to 300 cards in the base card set, and 112 of those cards are rookie cards! So, over one third of this set are cards with the “RC” logo on them, which is nice – and troublesome at the same time. When you buy a hobby box looking forward to a guaranteed autograph, you now have an even greater chance of getting one of a much lesser known rookie than we’re used to. However, this list of the best 2024 Topps Chrome rookie cards essentially combines the rookies from both flagship series, so there are more top-end rookies, too.

RC Rankings: 21 Best 2024 Topps Chrome Rookie Cards
Now, let’s get into which of the best 2024 Topps Chrome rookie cards I’m hoping to get out of this series! (Once this set releases on July 17, I will link these cards to their pages on eBay!)
1. Elly De La Cruz, Cincinnati Reds – Card No. 44 – View on eBay!
With 15 homers, 45 steals (by far, leading the majors), and a batting average above .242, EDLC has already proven last year was no fluke. The haters tried to dampen the love for his rookie cards (likely just so they could get them at a discount), but this Dominican has lived up to the hype!
2. Jackson Chourio, Milwaukee Brewers – Card No. 161 – View on eBay!
After a stinker start in the majors, Milwaukee’s patience with the Venezuelan outfielder is starting to pay off. In the past 30 days, he’s hitting .316 in that span. Let’s also remember that he’s just 20 years old.
3. Jasson Domínguez, New York Yankees – Card No. 89 – View on eBay!
We’ll have to wait a little longer for The Martian’s 2024 debut, as he is dealing with a left side injury during his rehab assignment (for Tommy John surgery) in Triple-A. He’s a big-hitting Yankees prospect – who could soon have hitters like Aaron Judge, Juan Soto and Giancarlo Stanton protecting him in the lineup!
4. Wyatt Langford, Texas Rangers – Card No. 122 – View on eBay!
After a slow start, the Florida product has come around, knocking in 23 RBI in the past 30 days (with a .933 OPS!). He also became just the 15th rookie to hit for the cycle!
5. Jackson Holliday, Baltimore Orioles – Card No. 88 – View on eBay!
It’s tough to rank Holliday, whose cup of coffee in the majors earlier this year came with a used band-aid floating in it. The promise is certainly still there, but he’s having a rough 2024 after that short stint in Baltimore. Even so, the Orioles are stacked, he’s super young, and he won’t be pressured the same way Caminero might be.
6. Junior Caminero, Tampa Bay Rays – Card No. 213 – View on eBay!
Caminero has dealt with some injuries this season that took the gloss off his rookie card, but the Rays will soon make him their offensive centerpiece. His raw power has collectors cranked up!
7. Masyn Winn, St. Louis Cardinals – Card No. 189 – View on eBay!
Wynn’s 3.3 WAR this season leads all rookies, and if not for a couple of superstar prospects ahead of him waiting for another chance in the majors (Holliday/Caminero), we’d probably rank him fifth overall on this list. Wynn was leading all rookies in hits, until Jackson Merrill overtook him.
8. Jackson Merrill, San Diego Padres – Card No. 207 – View on eBay!
An argument could be made that Merrill should climb into the top five with his stellar performance thus far (he leads all rookies in hits in 2024). His ability to make contact outranks nearly everyone above him, but he moved from shortstop to the outfield, which isn’t as fun for collectors. At least they didn’t make him a catcher.
9. Yoshinobu Yamamoto, L.A. Dodgers – Card No. 18 – View on eBay!
A strained rotator cuff clipped Yamamoto’s first half of the season, but he’s 6-2 with a 2.92 ERA. Plus, he’s set to star in the playoffs later this season, bringing his Q Rating up even higher.
10. Jordan Lawlar, Arizona Diamondbacks – Card No. 229 – View on eBay!
A few random injuries have kept him from climbing much higher on this list. I still believe in him, but being out of the news has a way of making people forget about you a little.
11. Pete Crow-Armstrong, Chicago Cubs – Card No. 16 – View on eBay!
Look, before you change his name to Pete Crow-Mendoza, let’s first remember he’s 22 years old in a below-average lineup on a below-average team. And his glove in center field is good enough for the Cubs to take their time with him.
12. Shota Imanaga, Chicago Cubs – Card No. 121 – View on eBay!
After a superb start to the season, a rough June (5.67 ERA) moves Imanaga behind Yamamoto in the rookie pitcher rankings.
13. Jared Jones, Pittsburgh Pirates – Card No. 96 – View on eBay!
We finally get a rookie card of one of the Pirates superstar rookie hurlers – and now we’re just waiting on Paul Skenes’ RC. J.J. is tied for second in strikeouts (98) by a rookie pitcher this season, just behind Luis Gil (111), who has two more starts!
14. Colton Cowser, Baltimore Orioles – Card No. 278 – View on eBay!
Heliot Ramos and Michael Busch are the only rookies with more homers than Cowser so far, and he even sprinkled in five stolen bases to boot! The Orioles have several spots among our rankings of the best 2024 Topps Chrome rookie cards.
15. Ceddanne Rafaela, Boston Red Sox – Card No. 118 – View on eBay!
I almost ranked Wilyer Abreu above this 23-year-old Curaçaoan, but Rafaela leads all rookies with 51 RBI, he’s a defensive superstar, and he’s one of the youngest players on a rebuilt roster full of good, young talent.
16. Wilyer Abreu, Boston Red Sox – Card No. 165 – View on eBay!
17. Heston Kjerstad, Baltimore Orioles – Card No. 142 – View on eBay!
18. Evan Carter, Texas Rangers – Card No. 136 – View on eBay!
19. Noelvi Marte, Cincinnati Reds – Card No. 177 – View on eBay!
20. Jordan Westburg, Baltimore Orioles – Card No. 277 – View on eBay!
21. Marco Luciano, San Francisco Giants – Card No. 210 – View on eBay!
